10817. Lorenzo Collier ALLISON
Lorenzo Collier Allison was born 11 November 1848 in Ohio. His mother Elizabeth Cochran Miner Allison (wife of William Allison) died about about this same time. William Allison (1811-1890) has not been located in the 1850 Census, but eleven year old Lorenzo C Allison was located in the 1860 Census living in Utah living with the family of Duncan S Casper and his wife Matilda Allison Casper. According to ancestry.com William (1811-1890), the father of Lorenzo and Matilda (1920-1871), the husband of Duncan S Casper were siblings. So Matilda was Lorenzo's Aunt. See the Wikipedia Article posted in Sources for more information on the Duncan S. Casper Family. Duncan Casper was baptized about 1841 at the age of 16 in Nauvoo and married about 1845. He and his family crossed the plains in 1855. No record has yet been found when Lorenzo C. Allison joined the Casper Family in Utah, but he was with them when the 1860 Census was taken. He was baptized in April of 1857. Lorenzo Collier Allison married Martha Howorth in 1869. In the 1870 Census Cynthia Howarth (1811) is living in the household. I'm not sure how Cynthia Howarth is related to Martha Howarth. Cynthia Howorth and Martha Howarth Allison were both born in England. Please contact Grant Davis for more information on this family. See 1860 Census also for William Allison (LJLQ-MRG) Lorenzo married Martha Howarth in 1869 and then they had their first child Lorenzo Howarth Allison in 1871. They then moved up to Heber City, Utah in 1872 and had their 2nd child John William Allison in 1873. In about 1883 to 1885 according to his daughter in-law Ida Collett Allison, Lorenzo was hit in the head with a "single jack" and essentially had a traumatic brain injury. He was to go back to his family in "the east" maybe Minnesota or Michigan and on his way from Heber to Park City he was murdered and they never found hiBIRTH: Also shown as Born , Greene, Ohio.
