40901. Phyllis Anabelle MINER

SHELBY Mrs. Phyllis Anabelle Miner Ashworth, 80, of 908 Parkwood Road, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

A native of Platteville, Colo., she was a graduate of McNeese State University, Lake Charles, La. She was a homemaker and a member of Central United Methodist Church in Shelby and formerly at First United Methodist Church of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Rufus and Alice Brown Miner; her husband of 45 years, Harry J. Ashworth; and a brother, George R. Miner Jr.

She is survived by three sons H. Allen Ashworth and wife Dolores of Shelby, J. Paul Ashworth and wife Frieda of Kings Mountain, and Dan E. Ashworth and fiance Carolyn C. Weaver of Gastonia; three brothers, James A. Miner and Richard L. Miner, both of Houston, and David W. Miner of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one sister, Gloria M. Turner of Pittsburg, Texas; seven grandchildren, Allen C. Ashworth and wife Jennifer; David J. Ashworth and wife Bridgett; Claire A. Ashworth; Anna K. Ashworth, Laura B. Ashworth, John A. Ashworth, and Brian J. Ashworth; two great-grandchildren Christopher R. Ashworth and Taylor A. Ashworth.

The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Joe Reeves and Dr. John Boggs presiding.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Allen and Dolores Ashworth, 3016 Charles Road, Shelby.
