The Reverend John Miner was born 4 July, 1775 in Pennsylvania (probably Fayette Co.) and died 20 May 1838. He wasn't married until 25 March 1799 in Jessamine Co., Kentucky. He married Mary Graham (Graham) and they left Kentucky in 1815 and lived in Jefferson County, Indiana until about 1827-28 when they removed to Illinois. Mary died near Danville, Illinois in 1830 and Rev. John settled in Fulton County, Illinois about 1835. He died in Fulton County, Illinois 20 May 1838 and is buried in Temple Cemetery near where many of his descendants lived for many years, and where his son William is also buried. A Miner Cemetery is about two miles from Temple Cemetery in which many descendants of Rev. John are buried. Another son of Rev John (John Francis Miner) donated land for the Miner Cemetery.
