Son of John L and Minnie (Sloss) Fogarty, Edward was born in Connecticut and attended Hall school and Warren Harding high school.
Prior to enlisting for military service Edward was employed by Remington Arms company.
Edward enlisted for military duty on 5 February 1943 in Hartford, CT.
Edward died on June 6th 1944 of wounds received in action on 29 May at Anzio, Italy.
His remains were returned to the United States from Nettuno, Italy and reburial took place in August 10th 1948 at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmington, New York.
He is survived by his parents and three brothers; John, George and William and two sisters; Mrs Henry McGill and Mrs. Charles Tichy.
