28475. Don Rodney MINER

Don Rodney Miner, 75, passed away on January, 4, 2016 at his home in Mapleton, Utah.
He was born in Payson, Utah to Don Thomas and Wanda Carson Miner on September 25, 1940. He graduated from Springville High School. Rodney served an LDS mission in New Zealand. He attended the College of Southern Utah where he met his loving wife, Carolyn Dalley. They were married on July 21, 1964 in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple and were blessed with 6 children.
Rodney graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. He worked the majority of his career as a teacher and coach at West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah until he retired in 2002.
Rodney was a born farmer. One of his greatest pleasures in life was working on his family’s farm in Springville, Utah.
In January 2013, Rodney and Carolyn had the opportunity to serve a LDS mission in Knoxville, Tennessee. Serving the people of Big Stone Gap, Virginia was a highlight of his life.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn; Children: Carrie (Glenn) Webb, Scott Miner, Catherine Miner, Chad (Chenoa) Miner, Sharon (Mike) Sargent, Craig (Emily) Miner, 21 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brothers; Doug Miner, Sherl Miner, and a sister, Noralee Bird.
He was preceded in death by parents Don Thomas & Wanda Carson Miner, and sister Rada Nusink.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the LDS Chapel located at 1215 North 1000 West Mapleton, Utah 84664. A viewing will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at Wheeler Mortuary located at 211 East 200 South Springville, Utah 84663. There will also be a viewing preceding the funeral services from 9:30 10:45 am followed by the funeral services at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
