Joseph was an attorney-at-law, and came to Florida with his only brother John Nathaniel Minor, soon after the Territory of Florida was established. He was know as Judge Joseph Minor. He served honorably in the Confederate States Army, 1861-1865.

John served in the United States Army in one of the Indian Wars. He was educatged as an architect. He lost one of his hands when a young man. He became a Minister in the Methodist Church during his youth, and formed the First Methodist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, in January of 1845. He preached there for two years.
Father: William Eubank, a pioneer Florida citizen from North Carolina.
Mother: Elizabeth Sarah Broward, a daugher of John Broward, also a Florida pioneer citizen.
