BIRTH:  Born on farm, 1 mile  east of Pine Run on the Whitehouse farm; the
Whitehouses were gone from the Pine Run area before Earl was born;

OCCUPATION: Owned the "Underhill Pharmacy" which was a pharmacy and gift
shop, in Flint, Mi for 62 years; He sold it after falling and breaking his hip,
he retired in 1977 but he and his wife work a few hours there each day; He
worked in the drug store while he was going to high school;  He got his
pharmacy license in 1924 and bought the business in 1931; Earl had his private
pilot license;

MILITARY: Earl went into the Army when he was 18;

HISTORY: Earl told me that once when he was 10 years old, he was in the fields
weeding sugar beets which was a very hard job. He worked on his hands and knees
pulling the thistles out of the beets. Once he laid down in the row and said to
himself, "There must be something greater for someone to do while on this
earth".
