Marriage Notes for Mary Jane Frances Lawton and Earl Harry DAVENPORT
Her first husband was: Earle Harry Decker (1864-?). Using thealias Earle Harry Davenport, they were married 18 May 1912 in Los Angeles. He was a professional baseball catcher, but also a criminal. He married her, borrowed money from her family, spent it all, and deserted her. She was really the black sheep of the family. Her brothers never saw her or talked to her. My father never knew of her existence. It was only through other members of the family, [that] I have found out what I know about her. In the book by Peter Morris, "Catcher", it tells the whole story of Decker and his marriage to Frances. He was a rat!
