6748. Jane MINER

Arrived in California with historic Winston Wagon Train of 1849.  Educated in Convent of Notre Dame at San Jose, California.  She was in charge of the Womens' State Insane Asylum.  In 1858 she opened a private school in the Congregational Church in Solano County, Calif.

6751. General Isaac Miner KIRBY

Isaac enlisted Apr 1861 in Co. I, 15th Ohio Volunteers Inf., promoted to
captain; given command of Co. D; promoted to major, colonel, brigadier general
in Dec 1864; participated in Battle of Shiloh; Battle of Stone River in Dec.
1862; wounded five times in one day at Kenesaw Mountain.
