Margaret H. McAteer
NEW DURHAM - Margaret H. McAteer, 95 of Merrymeeting Road in New Durham, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, peacefully at home.
Margaret was born on Aug. 5, 1920, in Concord, the daughter of Arthur and Maude (Glauson) Miner. She grew up in Concord and attend nursing school at Somerville Hospital in Massachusetts. Margaret lived in Canton and Sharon before retiring from Norwood Hospital and moving to Gilford in the 1980's. She lived in New Durham the past 11 years.
Margaret loved to travel, was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing the organ and found great joy in her cats.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Taylor; and husband, John McAteer, as well as her two brothers, Warren and Russell Miner.
She is survived by her son, James, and daughter-in-law, Merle Taylor, of New Durham; granddaughter, Karen Taylor, and partner, Bill Paige, of Concord; and granddaughter, Tanya Taylor, and fiancee Katie Light of Nashua. Margaret also has several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 13, at 11:15 a.m. in the old Chapel at St. Paul's School in Concord.
